Laptop Battery Question?

Ok, so I plug my AC adaptor in and the battery charges fine. After about 5 mins, the laptop says 'plugged in, not charging' and I know this is a very common problem! I have reinstalled the driver in Device Manager (ACI.... compliant thingo) lots of times and have tried many fixes, many of which have worked! However, the problem STILL re-occurs! Please help and thanks in advance!
