Can you use the EVO 4G mobile hotspot to connect to xbox live using a wireless adaptor?

We are going on a long drive an we have a TV in the car so we hooked up our xbox and we want to connect to live. My Dad pays for the mobile wifi hotspot service on his EVO 4G on sprint, we are considering buying a wireless adaptor for our Xbox 360 elite, but we want to make sure it will work.
