I want a pet rabbit but i cant find a shelter near my home what do i do?

I am pursuading my mom to get me a rabbit and i told her that its better to get one from a shelter. I looked it up and so did she. We couldnt find one where we could pick it up spade or nuederd. Help. Do i just suck it up and buy one from a pet store? btw i live in WI
