Direct hit from lightening?

If he was hit by lightning (if you are writing a story, please note there is no "e" in lightning), he would, most probably be dead. A few people have survived a direct strike but they are seriously injured. He would be deafened, at least temporarily, by the shock wave we call thunder. If it hit his shoulder, parts of his arm could be cooked and he might need the arm amputated. The lightning would knock him out at the very least but, as I said, death is the most likely result, if not on the spot then later in hospital.
