What can I do about this?

There is a dog at the shelter I work at that I would like to adopt. The only problem is that (a) my dad says no, (b) we don't know how our two dogs would react and (c) the dog I want to adopt might be dog aggressive. He seems to get most aggressive whenever we bring another dog out and I'm around. Or if we're in the room where he almost always is. Is Iams Healthy Naturals good?

I'm adopting a dog from the shelter. I asked the shelter what a good brand of dog food is. They said Iams is good. I was comparing labels and found that Iams Healthy Naturals is better. Is that true? Why is it, every time I turn around there are two stray cats fighting one another?

male cats are very territorial. If you put food out for them, they are going to fight for it, no matter if there is plenty for all. we get strays around our house alot, and we use a live animal trap to catch them. most of ours are female, so we take them and get them fixed then let them go. But for a male you can take him to a shelter or let him loose somewhere far from your house. I know alot of people say if you do that then it wont survive but cats are natural hunters and do not rely on humans to feed them. Two little dogs jumped into our truck wanting us to take them Home, but we can't find their Home. I have put ads up on Craigslist and on a couple of other local sites on the internet, and we've put up signs. We also had the pound check them to see if they're chipped, and they're not. We put signs up around the neighborhood. It's been over a week and nobody has come forward to claim them. We don't want to take them to the pound where they'll be separated and probably euthanized. What to do about rat tumor, about to go on a trip?

I have a rat that I adopted in May from our local animal shelter (along with a friend we introduced to her). They said she was 1.5 years old. Recently, like a week or so ago, I noticed she had a tumor on her belly. I was worried, but was busy at the time and never got around to scheduling an appointment. The tumor is now pretty big, almost touching the ground. She still doesn't seem bothered by it, though she is a little slower than before. I am about to go on a trip (leaving on Sunday) so there is still time to schedule a surgery perhaps. However I am still not sure what to do. She could be 2 years old by now (since her birth date isn't exact) and what if She doesn't live very long after getting the surgery? since she is old, she could die of cancer or another old age disease not far from now. She is fairly healthy otherwise, but since she is older is it a good idea? Also, last time I had a vet perform a tumor surgery on my rat it cost 200 dollars and I don't know if I can afford it now (I am only 15 and have to pay for it myself). A friend suggested getting the surgery and then volunteering at the clinic to lower the cost, but do you think that would work? I knew that the vet there was experienced with rats, but I am now wondering if there is a vet that is good with rats but has lower prices? I don't know if there is time to talk to a vet and know they are good with rats as well as get surgery before we leave on our trip. I know it is all my fault that I left this off, and I hate myself for it, but now I need to figure it out because I will not leave my rat when she has a tumor and I know she will be in a horrible state when we get back. I rescued a cat 2 years ago. He became my sister's cat but she's going to college so he's mine again. I rescued another male stray cat also about half a year ago. I rescued 2 more male kittens 2 weeks ago. Now my friend's outdoor cat had 4 babies and her dog ate one of them so she asked if I could "rescue" her cat and it's 3 remaining babies. Her parents won't let her bring the cat inside. It's also very rainy and we are afraid the babies and mom will get sick. I can't take them because we can hardly afford the cats and one dog I have now. None of my friends can take any more cats because most of them already have at least 2 or 3 because they adopt the cats I rescue. Nobody could take the 2 white ones so I kept them. After them my mom said if I sneak the pregnant cat into the house she'll get rid of the kittens and my precious rescue cat Shadow. I don't see why she loves my sister's overweight cat so much. Anyways, how am i going to help provide shelter for the cat and kittens? Maybe I could tell my mom I need them for further veterinary studies? I could pay for all of their expenses because I sell my artwork online and do multiple various tasks for neighbors and friends. I'm painting much more artwork now too because I have to pay for my 2 kittens to be neutered and etc because my mom said if she payed for them she would de-claw them like she de-clawed my sister's cat. I also promised my best friend that once she got a cat (one of the other cat's 3 babies) that I would help her pay for all expenses because she is poor and her mom wants it to not visit the vet or get fixed and she wants it to live off people food because she doesn't want to spend much money on it. You gave enough detail but did not overdue it to the extent of boredom. When people read fiction they want the experience of feeling like they are there. Just keep finding descriptions of detail that triggers the readers senses. Like right now I am thinking of chocolate! I can see it, smell it and taste it though I have not even bought it yet:) Just keep in mind it is easier to make the reader experience something they have actually experienced. When it comes to something less common, pay special attention to the key details to make it come alive. Your little excerpt here scores an A+ in my book!!

Trying to decide if I should get another Cocktiel?

We unexpectedly rescued a cockatiel from a tree outside my work almost 2 years ago. We put ads out but no one claimed him so instead of taking him to a shelter we decided to keep him & named him Harley. Did alot of research when we got him because I've never had one before and since then we have become to love him to death. His previous owner must have been kind to him because he is mostly hand tamed and loves to be out of his cage, however, he doesn't get out of his cage as much as he used to due to our schedules and us already having 4 dogs so we need to have Harley in a separate room when we do take him out. My husband is at home most of the day so Harley does get at least an hour out a day and on the weekends I spend at least an hour a day with him. We also put him in our living room during the day and in our bedroom at night so he is always in our sight and we also communicate with him throughout the day as much as we can. However, sometime I feel guilty that he is still not getting enough time out of his cage. When he is out, he doesn't really explore. He pretty much stays on our shoulders but lately he is not wanting to go back into his cage when its time. I do not know if he came from a home with another bird or not. Me and my husband have contemplated getting another one for about a year now but are torn. I have read that if you have 2 birds, then they will bond more with each other than with you. We certainly don't want that. However, if we did get another would it be acceptable to permanently keep them in separate cages. I really don't want to house them together. I don't mind the extra cleaning work, but what if we put their cages side by side and they seem to get along and then get frustrated because they can't have contact with each other. Would that stress them out. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I was at a music festival today for about 8 hours. At the start it was hot like 27 degrees then after a couple of hours it started raining. I was in short shorts and a singlet and thongs. Questions about my Macbook Pro...?

Ok so I just got a Macbook Pro last week and I love it but I have some questions. When the battery gets low and it tells me to plug in the adaptor and I turn it off while it charges it usually takes about 3 hours or so which seems normal BUT if I stay on it the whole time it's charging it seems like it charges in no time and much faster than when it is turned off. Or it could just seem that way since I'm on the internet so it could seem like time goes by a lot faster and I'm just not paying attention lol. How long should it take to charge while it is turned off compared to the time it takes while it is being used while it charges? Is it okay for me to use it the whole time while it charges or is that bad for the battery? Also if you have a Macbook how long do you usually use it because I feel like I may be using mine too much. There are days where I'll charge it and use it for 7 hours until the battery is low again and then I'll plug it in and use it for pretty long time after that as well. Is that okay? Sorry for all the questions. It's my first laptop and I want to make sure that I'm using it correctly and not doing anything that could harm it. Thank you very much for your help! :)

I know there is a lot of concern about puppy mills and backyard breeding and things of that such. I read a site that said a "reputable" breeder will usually not post classified ads. I found a dog in a classified ad online that I am considering adopting, I am just worried about supporting a "bad practice." The owner seems friendly and knows what she is talking about. However, she seems to breed as a hobby in addition to being a stay at home mom. Is this bad? It's hard to find a reputable breeder or cross breeds. Any feelings or suggestions about this? Multifunction display on my 2003 peugeot has messed up since friend fitted stereo.. how do i sort it out?

My cat has ringworm, what should I do?

I am almost 100% certain that my cat has ringworm. I've had cats before and know what it looks like (and I've had it before). An office call to my vet is $50, and I really don't have money right now. I am 31weeks and 3days with my on again off again bf of 7 years. He has made so many promises about what he is going to do for our babygirl and has not brught her anything yet nor has his family. I think you're doing an awesome thing by keeping it honest because let me tell you growing up my mom was in the hospital for two weeks for a surgery, I am 25 years old and still don't know why. The hard drives help but most people wouldn't want an arcade especially since you can get a new slim xbox with 4gb hard drive for $200 with a controller AND they have wifi. WHY does the cat poop in it's kennel?

Story: Got this cat from the shelter September 2010 - she was 5 or 6 months old. The first month she was kept in her kennel every night and whenever I wasn't home (she had front claws and I had / have a nice couch). After that, she was only kept in the kennel 7-8 hours when I slept. Had no problems with her and the kennel the first 5 months. Then, had two incidents (one in February, one in March) where she pooped in her kennel. Thought it might be worms or an infection but no. I was out of town for some time this May, so the cat stayed with a friend. This friend let her roam all day, almost no time spent in the kennel. No problems there. When I got the cat back and put her in the kennel at nights again (I don't want her breaking nick-nacks I have OR climbing / biting things in the kitchen, as she has done), she pooped. So I let her stay out, and when she started to paw at my bedroom door, I'd put her in her kennel, usually for 2-4 hours. This seemed to work, until she did it again, last night. I am tired and need to figure out what is wrong with this cat. Any suggestions? Not any great help via web surfing. THANK YOU!!!!

I am a beagle lover and one thing i have learned is they tend to act out when they don't have a buddy. i suggest getting a cat or another dog either will be fine for the little guy. I honestly can't cope with control freaks. It's okay IF the control freak is polite, not obnoxious, and does not do it intentionally to boss you around. But if they are going to judge you in a negative way, about how your life should be or how you should live it, is just absolutely unacceptable to me. My step dad is one of the biggest control freaks I've met, and yes he judges everything like he's some all mighty king. He will tell me in a nasty way with cursing to wash the dishes, or to take out the trash, or to help him with something.
